Patrick Star is a grappler in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and here’s how his muscular attacks work in combat
One of the three representatives of the Spongebob series in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is none other than the adorable dunce, Patrick Star. In this platform fight, the Inhabitant of the Pink Sea fights using a set of grappler moves, and we got a look at all of his attacks on paper earlier this month.
Today, however, we have a full breakdown from the game’s development team that shows exactly how each of Patrick’s moves works in combat.
According to the developers, Patrick is good at punishing blocked attacks and slamming his enemies against the stage to “stay in control of the fight.” As Patrick, you’ll want to face your opponent and hit his big throws to take the damage.
For his light attacks, we see a quick abdominal hump that covers a short range in front of him. We also see a quick strike where Patrick pulls out a Krabby Patty and quickly devours it.
Patrick’s lights don’t have much range, but they excel at recoil. Powerful attacks seem to have a bit of a kick start, but the reward for having one, like above (Trophy Hat), is a very powerful blow that will send the opponent across the stage.
But Patrick’s special attacks are the main draw here. The neutral special is a command throw that sees the starfish rush forward and pick up its enemy, while the low special is a close grip that grabs the opponent and jumps forward with him, causing him to lets fly off the stage and knock out both players.
After the moves are broken down, you can watch Patrick use his powerful tools in a live match. If you’re looking to take on the role of Mr. Star when Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl releases on October 5th, you’ll definitely want to watch this video.
