Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Where Crawdad sings climbed to No. 1 on the Redbox Record Rental chart the week ended September 25, but slipped to No. 2 on the Redbox On Demand chart for the week. The film, based on the novel of the same name, is about an abandoned girl who rises in the woods.

#1 on the Redbox On Demand chart, which tracks digital VOD transactions and sales, was Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverickthe 1986 megahit sequel Superior gun which grossed over $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office.

Universal Images’ Minions: The Rise of Gru remained No. 2 on the Redbox Disc Rental Chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at Redbox’s thousands of red kiosks. The franchise’s fifth entry and second prequel “Despicable Me” features the minions helping young Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) achieve his dream of becoming a supervillain.

Last week’s best record rental, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Elvis, Director Bax Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis Presley fell to No. 3 on this ranking.

No. 4 on both charts was Quiver Films’ Banditavailable on disc exclusively on Redbox until its wide release on December 13. The film based on a true story tells the story of a charming criminal who takes on a new identity after his release from prison and robs 59 banks and jewelry stores while being chased by the police.

#5 on the record rental chart and #3 on the digital chart was Universal’s Jurassic World Dominion. The extended cut of the film was #6 on the digital chart, where it is tracked separately (although it is included with the disc version as well as the digital version sold at select retailers).

Digital title #5 and record rental #6 was Universal’s black phone, a thriller starring Ethan Hawke about a kidnapped boy who finds a phone that lets him hear from previous victims.
