Chicken Run 2 Expected Release Date and Updates!
Chicken Run 2 will be the sequel to the original Chicken Run, which opened over two decades ago.
When Chicken Run was released on June 23, 2000, it became the first stop motion animated film. The screenplay was written by Karey Kirkpatrick and directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park. It had been running for about 84 minutes when we checked. To put things into perspective, this anime film had a budget of around US$45 million and earned a total of around US$224.8 million at the box office.
Producers included Peter Lord, Nick Park and David Sproxton. Aardman Animations, DreamWorks Animation, Allied Filmmakers, and Pathé were all involved in the creation of the film, with Pathé Distribution handling European distribution, while DreamWorks Pictures handled worldwide distribution. Critics and moviegoers alike were impressed with this stop-motion animated comedy. IMDB gave it a score of 7.1 out of 10, while Rotten Tomatoes gave it a score of 97 out of 100 and a score of 65 out of 100.
Chicken Run 2 is finally coming to Netflix, more than two decades after the first (Onyeka and The Academy of The Sun) launched. Aardman and Netflix will collaborate on a sequel to the film which was first revealed in 2018, and it will be released in 2020. On January 20, 2022, Aardman announced that Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget would be the sequel.
Directed by Sam Fell, who also wrote the screenplay, Chicken Run 2 will be written by Sam Fell with Sam Fell, Karey Kirkpatrick, Peter Lord, John O’Farrell and Rachel Tunnard. It will be produced by Sean Clarke, Sarah Cox, Leyla Hobart, Karey Kirkpatrick, Peter Lord, Nick Park, Steve Pegram and Zoe Verrier-Stunt.
Netflix will release the sequel, while DreamWorks Pictures has distributed the first film. For Chicken Run 2, production groups such as StudioCanal, Aardman Animations and Lionsgate are involved.
What is the release date of Chicken Run 2?
Chicken Run 2 will be available on Netflix in 2023, according to a statement from Aardman. There has been no official announcement of the date yet. Chicken Run 2 will be released next year at the earliest.
Film production began in 2021, as previously reported. It’s also possible the film will hit theaters, but no official word has been given on that.

The Chicken Run 2 voice cast has been revealed to include some familiar faces. With Matilda Ziegler and Timothy Spall as Nick, Donald Gibson and Kari Wahlgren as Rocky and Molly,
In addition to Phil Daniels, Greg Salata and Lynn Ferguson, there will also be Mac. Rumors have swirled that Julia Sawalha, who played Ginger in Chicken Run, may be returning for a sequel. Although Ginger’s voice was deemed unsuitable for the role, she confirmed that a new actress would be recruited to fill the position.
She tweeted once, “I’ve been officially plucked, stuffed and roasted”. We’ll learn more about Ginger and Rocky’s new addition, a little girl named Molly, in the sequel.
