The road to successful entrepreneurship is most often a long and winding road. The problem is, for many start-up entrepreneurs, it can seem like you don’t know which steps to take first … or in which direction. Without an authoritative guide or clear instructions, any business – business, personal, relationship – seems uncertain at best.

But here’s an encouraging thing about becoming an entrepreneur. Many people have succeeded by taking an unconventional path.

If you are in the early stages of entrepreneurship, you may face challenges or adversity on your journey to success. It’s normal. Don’t let it stop you.

Advertising entrepreneur Alan Sussman provides an example of someone who has taken a difficult and unconventional path to success. Below are four of the strategies that got him there. As you embark on your unconventional path, embrace these strategies and rest assured that you are in good company.

1. Turn fear into fuel.

Sussman fled an abusive home at age 14. As you might expect, he lived in a state of fear. However, Sussman chose to capitalize on his fears. Instead of giving in to it, he used fear as fuel to build resilience, determination and independence.

Sussman is in good company when it comes to channeling fear as a motivator for success. Popular author JK Rowling from Harry potter celebrity is well known for its history of overcoming adversity. Today she is one of the most famous authors in history. Rowling is an enterprising writer, considering how her books have fueled a film franchise and numerous products.

However, when Rowling started writing her world-famous books, she was in between jobs and living on government funding. In her Harvard speech, Rowling told listeners she owed her success as a writer to realizing her worst fears and building her life on what she called a “solid foundation” to touch. the bottom.

Fear often provides the best fuel for creativity. Once you recognize that your fears have no power, you are free to move forward in greater creativity and innovation.

2. Education is not universal.

Sussman is also one of a surprisingly large number of college dropout entrepreneurs. Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook Fame and David Geffen of Geffen Records and DreamWorks Studios are in the same boat. These two very successful entrepreneurs also chose to drop out of college and forgo graduation. Instead, they used their personal experiences, intellect, and creativity to build extremely successful businesses.

For some, formal education is a great tool and leads to success. However, if you’re not sure whether education is the right decision for you, don’t get lost in the fear of dropping out of a degree.

Take the time to discover your interests and passions. Use them as a starting point. Modern technology has made it possible to learn a trade without sitting in a classroom or spending thousands of dollars on a college degree. Take advantage of opportunities that you find interesting and bond along the way.

3. Build your business around your strengths and interests.

Long before Sussman entered the advertising industry, he took the time to discover his talents and the things that really interested him. After dropping out of school, Sussman even tried skydiving and worked in the music industry. It was while working writing commercial jingles that he finally realized his passion for marketing.

Self-discovery is an important and necessary part of the development of any entrepreneur.

Too often, we dive into an area or move forward with an idea that doesn’t perfectly match our skills or passions. Thinking critically about what you enjoy doing and the specific ways in which you are good can help guide your career. That said, it depends on your self-awareness and flexibility to recognize when something isn’t right for you and be ready to adjust.

4. Boldness drives the day … liabilities don’t sell.

Most of us are familiar with the iconic rounded corners of Apple products. But did you know that this design change was one of Steve Jobs’ many specific, smart and innovative preferences? He pushed for rounded corners and nowadays this design has become synonymous with the Apple brand. You’d be hard pressed to find a more iconic tech design. And Jobs was yet another college dropout! Of course, Jobs was known to be arrogant… to say the least.

Ultimately, at least one of every entrepreneur’s priorities should be to push the boundaries. This means that invariably they will meet with opposition. Whenever you take a new path or generate a new idea, know ahead of time that you will need to be bold in order to be successful. Passivity will get you nowhere.

Creativity is at the heart of any successful business and it is also at the heart of the challenges to be overcome. If you are having difficulty in your life, whether in your career or in your personal life, consider the issues creatively.

Once you’ve decided to go the unconventional route, keep in mind that opposition is inevitable, but creativity is an integral part. Take notes from leaders in your field, track what works for you, and remember that no two paths are the same.

Universal Studios Florida will close Shrek 4D after more than 18 years, as the park continues to modernize its attractions for new entrants.

Universal Studios Florida will close its classic Shrek 4D attraction next year.

As reported by Orlando Informer, Shrek 4D will officially close on January 10, 2022, ending an 18-plus race that began in 2003. Like other 4D experiences, the ride combines elements of a coaster with an original story. Shrek 4DThe central plot of Shrek and Donkey save Princess Fiona from the ghost of Lord Farquaad. DreamWorks returned to animate the story of the ride and then released it on DVD under the title Shrek 3-D, to coincide with the cinema premiere Shrek 2.

In 2001, DreamWorks Animation released Shrek with Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and John Lithgow. It was a box office success and became the fourth highest grossing film of the year. After Shrek, DreamWorks has launched a franchise of productions, including sequels, video games, TV specials, and even a Broadway play. Today, the legacy of Shrek lives through the character of Le Chat Botté, played by Antonio Banderas, which is due to release a new film in 2022.

In 2003, the popularity of Shrek had made the character a cultural phenomenon. Seeing this, Universal Studios added Shrek 4D at its major theme parks in Hollywood, California, and Orlando, Florida. However, in 2017, the time has come for Shrek and Universal Studios Hollywood have closed the ride, replacing it with DreamWorks Theater. When Universal Studios closes its Shrek 4D counterpart in 2022, it is estimated that it will have welcomed nearly 75 million guests.

Although the closure of Shrek 4D is sad for many fans, it is a necessary part of business for theme parks. In order for new rides to open, old rides must be closed. Shrek 4D was itself a replacement for the Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies 3D movie. In recent years, other brands of yesteryear have also been closed in favor of more relevant properties. In 2017, the long T2-3D: Battle through time, which was built after the release of Terminator 2, was also closed in favor of The Bourne Stuntacular. At the moment, there is no news on which attraction will replace Shrek 4D.

While Shrek 4DThe days may be numbered in the United States, the ride is still present in other theme parks around the world. At Universal Studios Japan, which recently opened its Super Nintendo World theme, fans can find Shrek 4D housed in the same theater as The magic of Sesame Street 4D movie. However, true Shrek– enthusiasts will want to make the trip to Universal Studios Singapore, where Shrek 4D is presented as part of a “Far Far Away” themed area that also includes several roller coasters, a live show, and Shrek-centric outlets.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is one of the most anticipated animated films. The first three films of the media franchise were applauded by audiences around the world. The film series is mainly popular in China as an outstanding western emulation of the wuxia film genre. Fans have been waiting for Kung Fu Panda 4 for five years. But will the owner of the DreamWorks Animation franchise release the fourth movie?

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has given fans hope that there will be a fourth film in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, and it’s also possible that the series will see three more episodes after Kung Fu Panda 3, which actually a six-movie series.

Looking back on January 13, 2016, Kung Fu Panda 3 Co-Director Jennifer Yuh Nelson said, “It’s one at a time. We want to make it a perfect gem, and then we’ll see what happens. after that, “while Collider asked him about the possibility of a fourth film.

Co-director Alessandro Carloni said: “With the sequels, we don’t want to try to make them feel open. We want it to feel like a trip over, and we think this movie does. it is fantastic the story presents itself, great. “

On August 2, 2018, when asked about updates on Kung Fu Panda 4, co-director Jennifer Yuh Nelson replied that she didn’t know because she had always seen the series as a trilogy, but was open to the idea of a fourth installment as long as he focused on Po.

According to multiple reports, although the film has yet to be declared, production of Kung Fu Panda 4 has started but has been hampered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we assume that DreamWorks Animation had secretly renewed the fourth film. However, they have yet to officially confirm Kung Fu Panda 4. So the question arises as to why the manufacturers are still being quiet about this? Why don’t they provide any updates on productions?

If Kung Fu Panda 4 finally arrives, it will likely focus on the story of Po’s reunion with his biological father and family. In the third movie, Po entered the panda village and reunited with his father and other pandas. Viewers also saw Po teaching his son the art of Kung Fu and turning him into a Kung Fu master.

Industry insiders believe that Kai will not return as the main villain of Kung Fu Panda 4, as Po blew Kai into oblivion by overloading his chi and thus freeing all the kung fu masters who were under control. control of Kai when he took their chi.

Currently, Kung Fu Panda 4 does not have an official trailer or release date.

Exclusive: Over a year later Ron Mayer Suddenly I was shown the door to NBC Universal. Suspected of an incident, payment and attempted extortion, the former vice president of a company owned by Comcast received his own payment.

In a deal brokered by Hollywood heavyweight lawyer Patricia Glazer, we hear Meyer landed a settlement in the $ 50 million territory. During the months of creation, a secret deal was reached at the end of September and all parties approved the details.

A Glaser Weil litigator, who was contacted by Deadline this morning, said: “Comments are prohibited due to confidentiality clauses.” NBCUniversal did not respond to the request for comment. If so, we’ll update this post.

Of course, while negotiations are underway over his settlement, the risk of assuming a former super agent hasn’t been strict against cash in the past 14 months since losing the Plum NBCU job. August 18, 2020.

After leaving NBCUniversal, Meyer landed a lucrative consulting job in Qatar. He has made numerous trips which we hear from sources around the country to provide advice to the country’s Doha Film Institute on investing in films.

Meyer left NBCU at the end of last summer due to the radius of a business explosion following a deal-based incident with actress Charlotte Kirk Media Conglom’s vice president said “he years ago “. Part of the stagnation in Meyer’s NBCU settlement appears to be due to Conglom’s claims that Studio executives signed a contract with Kirk to calm the situation. Meyer’s reconciliation with NBC Uni shows that was not the case.

Meyer said in a statement when he retired last year:

“I recently revealed to my family and my business that I threatened and settled with an outside woman who had made false accusations. Indeed, it was very concise and consensual that I did many years ago. I made this disclosure because other parties knew about the settlement and kept forcing me to pay money, otherwise they had nothing to do with this issue. I intended to falsely implicate NBC Universal and publish false allegations about me. After disclosing this to the company, we have mutually agreed to step down as vice president of NBC Universal. “

“I am writing to share some unfortunate news. At the end of last week, Ron Meyer acted on NBCUniversal in a way that we believe does not align with company policies and values. “Based on Ron’s disclosure of these actions, he has mutually concluded that he should leave the company immediately. Ron’s 25 years of service and his significant contribution to NBCUniversal. will be grateful to you.

Even in the world of sharp, curvy corner suites, Meyer has long been seen as a “mech” in business and is known to help those with backstage issues. To the many embarrassments of Meyer’s relatives, their loyalty extends to former fraudster and investigator Anthony Pelicano, with whom former executives have long had a relationship.

Former Marine Meyer, along with Mike Obitz, Bill Haber, Roland Perkins and Michael Rosenfeld, made CAA a great power.

He and Obitz had a famous dropout when Obitz flirted with Universal, but after Sydney J. Schaumburg left, Meyer took over as president and COO in 1995. saw. In this new role, he worked with President of Universal Film Entertainment, Jeff Shell, and President of Universal Pictures, Donna Langley, to provide strategic direction and advice on all aspects of the conglomerate, including the assets film and television and the activity of theme parks. low.

Together, they saw Universal in 2015 reach the then world box office record of $ 6.9 billion (the record subsequently broken by Disney). Meyer fired Spielberg and Amblin at Universal Fold in 2015 after director DreamWorks left for Disney. At Disney, Oscar-winning directors have made films such as Lincoln, War Horse, Bridge of Spies, and BFG.

Meyer’s contract, renewed in 2016, was initially intended to keep him in the studio until the end of 2021 … but not that much.

Spokane is America’s premier destination for an art exhibit dedicated to Dreamworks animation, visiting the MAC in Spring 2022. You know Shrek will be there.

Tthe nostalgia we receive watching a favorite childhood movie isn’t easy to replicate, but the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture brings that feeling to Spokane.

The Spokane MAC is expected to be the very first American destination for DreamWorks Animation: the exhibition route, from sketch to screen. Open on March 19, 2022 and until September 5, this exhibition celebrates more than 25 years of DreamWorks animation.

The exhibition features more than 400 objects, including rare and never-before-seen archival documents such as concept drawings, storyboards, photographs, paintings and other artwork from the animated classics. From anti-social ogres to playful and protective dragons, visitors will be transported to the much-loved stories of DreamWorks.

The exhibition is divided into four areas that take visitors on a journey through the creative processes behind the films. The character, the story and the world explain how the stories evolve and how the imaginary worlds imagined by the animators come to life. The Drawing Room section houses the Animation Desk digital kiosks that allow visitors to tap into their creative side and hand-draw their own movie footage on software developed by DreamWorks for their own animators.

Wes Jessup, MAC’s Executive Director is delighted to present the exhibition in the United States for the first time.

“It’s an honor for the MAC to offer this in-depth look at DreamWorks’ visionary approach to animation,” says Jessup. “We look forward to bringing visitors from across the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada to Spokane for this exhibit perfect for families, fans, students, art lovers and creatives.”

Shrek’s screenwriters Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio were hardly allowed to feature a shapeshifted Fiona, until they changed a single word.

The story of the original Shrek was saved by a very simple fix from Fiona. The 2001 DreamWorks movie was widely praised for its vocal performances and humor, full of jokes that made fun of fairy tales and Disney. Shrek won the inaugural Oscar for Best Animated Feature and has grown into a franchise that includes three sequels, a spin-off, holiday specials, and a live musical.

Shrek follows a misanthropic ogre, played by Mike Myers, as he attempts to get rid of the fairytale creatures now residing in his swamp after being banished by Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow). He makes a deal with the dictator to save Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from her imprisonment in a castle guarded by dragons. Shrek ranges from a reluctant buddy comedy as the ogre teams up with Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and a subversive fairytale romance.

However, Fiona is hiding a huge secret: she transforms into an ogre after dark. It was this aspect of shapeshifting that created a conflict between DreamWorks and screenwriters Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio. Talk to Creative screenwriting, they revealed that the studio deemed the ogre idea inappropriate, but all it took was a simple wording change to get this crucial plot point approved. After pressure from studio executives, Elliot and Rossio decided to subtly change their pitch to focus less on “metamorphosis“and more on”enchantment“.

Fiona carrying Shrek to the swamp

According to Elliot, the writers took issue with the idea that the change in shape “does not seem suitable for the fairy tales”. They delivered a concise counter-argument, noting Ariel in The little Mermaid and The beauty and the Beast. Considering the long history of physical transformation in fairy tales, this seems like an incredibly weak excuse for wanting to give up on the idea. ShrekSurely the producers would have been aware of these stories, suggesting that the real reason may have come from a reluctance to have an “ugly” princess. Of particular concern was the description of Fiona’s transformation script. By Elliot, “All we wanted was for her “ugly self” to be particularly ugly to her, not to be a female version of Shrek but to be a unique version of herself, as unique as her. human appearance was.. “It seemed like a losing battle, until the writers changed their approach with a slight change in wording. It didn’t change form anymore, but”delighted”.

This more alluring and magical term for Cameron Diaz’s now-retired Fiona has given the writers’ story endorsement, and Shrek continued as originally planned. Elliot continues, “If we had done this in the first version I don’t know if we would have had any issues. “It’s emblematic of completely unnecessary interference in the studio. There are many instances of films being ruined by studios fighting against filmmaker control, especially in the superhero subgenre. Zack Snyder Justice League is a prime example of a studio removing crucial plot points and twisting stories into what they mistakenly believe viewers want. Elliot and Rossio have admirably stuck to their vision of Shrek, rejecting other ideas such as making the ogre friendlier, with the desire to gain respect by becoming a knight. Outdated social conventions have almost had an impact on history, with rulers deciding for themselves what an audience can understand and accept.

Pirates of the Caribbean the progressive vision of screenwriters Elliot and Rossio for Shrek remained largely intact, saving the film from the more traditional story of the worthy hero falling in love with a classically beautiful princess. All did not work out, and the writers admitted that they would have preferred Fiona to stay “delightedRather than becoming an ogre permanently, to avoid hinting that she belongs to Shrek because of her looks. It would have improved their themes of self-esteem and acceptance, but the overall story managed to hold the ideas of inner beauty through Fiona.

September has been a sad month for animation fans on Netflix. The streaming service has lost three of the biggest Dreamworks titles in its catalog – Turbo, Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2. All three movies are now streaming elsewhere, but those who had them in their Netflix queue are sadly out of luck.

Turbo left Netflix on Saturday September 11, while Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2 the two left on Thursday September 30 – at the end of the month. Rest assured, fans can still enjoy the Netflix original series Turbo fast, Kung Fu Panda: Collection of Awesome Secrets and Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Parchment. However, in some ways it makes it all the sadder that the originals themselves are gone. The full list of Netflix departures in September is available here.

For those who don’t know, Turbo was released in 2013, and it stars Ryan Reynolds as a garden snail with big dreams of becoming the world’s fastest snail. He resides in Los Angeles, California, in an ordinary tomato garden, where he wants to become the greatest runner of all time. Unfortunately, other snails are much more careful than him, so his dreams are often mocked.

Other stars of the film include Paul Giamatti, Michael Peña, Snoop Dogg, Maya Rudolph, Michelle Rodriguez, and Samuel L. Jackson. It was directed and co-written by David Soren, who shares script credit with Darren Lemke and Rober Siegel. The film was considered a general success at the time, and now that almost a decade has passed since its release, its legacy is being put to the test.

During this time, Kung Fu Panda debuted in 2008 with Jack Black as Po, a goofy but enthusiastic giant panda with an urge to learn all the martial arts he can. All characters are anthropomorphic animals native to China, including the red panda Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), Master Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Master Mantis (Seth Rogen), Master Viper (Lucy Liu), Master Crane (David Cross), Master The monkey (Jackie Chan) and the snow leopard Tai Lung (Ian McShane).

Kung Fu Panda was successful enough to earn two sequels in addition to the spinoffs listed above. The third movie isn’t on Netflix now and won’t be added even if the other two go.

As of this writing, Turbo doesn’t stream anywhere other than Netflix, so if you miss the 9/11 deadline, you’ll have to buy or rent it from a digital store. Kung Fu Panda is also streaming on Peacock for now, while Kung Fu Panda 2 airs on Peacock and IMDbTV, where it airs with commercials.
